Built by hand. Shaped by time.
My journey in art didn’t begin with a blueprint. It began with instinct. Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to forms, textures, and the silent language of creation.
I’m Vijith Kumar Kavinthazha, an artist shaped by curiosity, hands-on experience, and a lifelong connection with the visual world.
My interest in sculpture and visual art grew through my school and college years. Seeing my work featured in local newspapers gave me the confidence to keep going. Those early moments inspired me to study at the College of Fine Arts, where I refined my craft and explored new ways of expressing my ideas.
A defining chapter in my journey was Arteria, a large-scale public art initiative that transformed the city into an open gallery. Working alongside accomplished artists influenced my practice in lasting ways and expanded how I approached my work. I also had the privilege of contributing to Beyond Bricks, a tribute installation to Laurie Baker that beautifully brought together art and architecture.
Today, with over 20 years of experience, I lead creative teams as a Creative Director. Through it all, I’ve always stayed connected to what first drew me here: creating.
Whether through sculpture, painting, or other forms of expression, I continue to create work that reflects what matters to me. Art has always been more than a profession. It’s been a constant part of who I am.
